As a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and implementing robust information security standards, procedures, and guidelines for applications and databases. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that systems and organizational databases remain protected from unauthorized access and use, while also monitoring systems, identifying threats, and managing disaster recovery operations.

Role / Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment, identifying any deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
  • Establish strict program control processes to mitigate risks and support certification and accreditation of systems, including process support, analysis support, and coordination.
  • Assist in the implementation of government policies such as NISPOM, DCID 6/3, and make recommendations on process tailoring.
  • Analyze and validate established security requirements, recommending additional security measures as necessary.
  • Support formal Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) required by accrediting authorities, including pre-test preparations, participation in tests, and analysis of results.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of system audits, monitoring corrective actions until closure.
  • Demonstrate advanced subject matter expertise in the job family, contributing to and possibly leading large programs within the function.
  • Interface regularly with senior management and executive leadership, playing a role in overall functional strategic planning.
Required Skills / Education:
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of related experience.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

  • Management experience.
  • Ability to coach and develop junior ISSOs.
