Main Areas of Responsibility
1. Project Management
- Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects from inception to completion.
- Skills in delegating tasks and managing team responsibilities.
- Proficiency in monitoring project budgets and financial performance.
- Understanding of financial metrics such as net revenue and profit margins.
- Ability to develop strategies to optimize revenue and profitability.
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, and drainage design.
- Experience in designing utilities and systems for solid waste management, including force mains, leachate and gas collection, stormwater management, and erosion control.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to solid waste engineering and environmental compliance.
- Ability to prepare and submit permit applications and ensure all projects adhere to regulatory standards.
- Skills in preparing detailed and accurate technical reports, including operating plans and construction quality assurance (CQA) reports.
- Proficiency in drafting comprehensive permit applications.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing air and water samples for environmental monitoring purposes.
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical data to inform project decisions.
- Strong critical thinking skills to address design challenges.
- Creativity in developing innovative solutions to engineering and environmental issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, superiors, and clients.
- Ability to clearly convey project goals, progress, and challenges.
- Expertise in using computer-aided design (CAD) software, particularly AutoCAD, to create detailed design plans and drawings.
- Skills in observing and documenting construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues during the construction phase.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Geological or Environmental Engineering required
- At least 5-8+ years of professional experience in civil or environmental engineering, preferably with a focus on solid waste projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D preferred
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- EIT/P.E. license highly preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to include proposal writing and reporting
- Experience in Rational, SCS hydrological analysis or other storm water analysis preferred
- Experience with State and Municipal projects a plus
- Travel will be required
- Valid Driver's license required
