Our client, a top AmLaw 100 national law firm, is seeking a mid-level Associate to join their Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group in Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, or Dallas.
Candidate Profile:
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Bar Admission in Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, or Texas required, as applicable.
- 3+ years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
- Expertise in drafting, designing, implementing, and administering tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare benefit plans.
- Experience with executive compensation and benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and taxation issues related to executive compensation arrangements (including Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code).
- Proficiency in designing and drafting employment and other executive compensation arrangements.
- Strong writing, drafting, and communication skills, along with a high level of ambition, drive, and team-orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and design tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and executive compensation arrangements.
- Handle executive compensation and benefits issues related to mergers and acquisitions.
- Address taxation issues related to executive compensation arrangements, including Sections 409A and 280G.
- Collaborate with a team to support and grow a national practice.
