YOUR ROLE WITH THE COMPANY
- This position plans, organizes, and directs work of other surveyors and technicians
- Promotes safe work practices of all survey staff
- Evaluates progress of the staff and results obtained and recommends major changes to achieve overall results
- May be asked to represent the company in meetings and conferences with clients
- Assumes supervisor responsibilities and performs as staff advisor and consultant for surveying functions and personnel management
- Coordinates findings with work of engineering, right-of-way, and/or utility coordination personnel, clients, and others connected to the project
- Determines scope of work, job objectives, and man-hour budgets on projects assigned to the surveying group coordinating with other project managers and supervisors
- Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys
- Analyzes survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals
- Schedules, assigns, and directs projects
- Trains assistants, survey technicians, and other surveyors in areas needed for growth and improvement
- The majority of the work is in the field
BACKGROUND
- Associates or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying is preferred
- 5 or more years’ experience
- Ability to perform ALTA/ACSM, boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
- Working knowledge of: Trimble, MicroStation, Sokkia, Carlson, Microsoft Office Suite, or Leica Surveying Equipment (or similar)
- Possession of a valid, current driver’s license
- Ability to work continually outside in all types of weather conditions
