Position Description:
Supervise field construction of a single large or complex project, or multiple projects and serve as company-wide subject matter resource for construction operations. Leverage construction operations expertise to provide technical and organizational planning and scheduling guidance to project operations in order to complete work on time, within budget, and to quality specified.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise field construction of a single large or complex project, or multiple projects and serve as a company-wide subject matter resource for construction operations.
• Partner with Operations Manager or Self-Perform Manager to coordinate assignments of project staff, including
Superintendents, Foremen, Staff, and Trade partners.
• Provide guidance to Superintendent and Foreman for developing staffing projections and Work In Place (WIP) utilizing application software in use on project.
• Leverage construction operations expertise to provide technical and organizational planning and scheduling guidance to Superintendent and Foreman throughout duration of projects.
• Oversee and provide guidance on development of logistics plans and schedules during pre-construction and early project activities.
• Review project schedules with Superintendents and Foreman to ensure critical activities and decisions remain on task and provide Required-On-Job (ROJ) dates to project management team.
• Conduct weekly review of production monitors with Superintendents, Foreman, and project teams to identify gaps/risk, establish recovery plans, and track production goals to meet project plan.
• Document project site risks and issues that affect budget, quality, or schedule and provide update to project management team.
• Oversee implementation of project Quality Control (QC) program.
• Collaborate with Business Unit EH&S lead to implement project Safety Program.
• Contribute input to progression/succession plan for employees in consultation with Business Unit management and HR.
• Contribute to development of operational plans for pursuits, working in partnership with Business Development, Estimating
and Project Executives.
• Initiate and communicate continuous improvement concepts and practices to team in support of working efficiently,
enhancing programs, coordinating and reducing waste.
• May supervise team of Superintendent employees and participate in hiring process, onboard and deliver timely performance
feedback for direct reports, execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilize talent
management systems, and identify appropriate training to help with development needs.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related
field, and minimum of 20 years of construction experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Extensive knowledge of Construction Operations including Self-Perform Operations (SPO)
• Extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and project Safety programs
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of general and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, construction
means, methods, and materials, understanding of line and grade and survey methods
• Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques,
and accounting principles
• Proficient knowledge of building codes and compliance
• Extensive project management experience, able to manage high volumes of work and various size project(s) successfully to
completion, on time, and within budget
• Established relationships with owners, developers, and architects
• Ability to produce and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
• Leadership experience to make decisions, direct and build teams
• Diplomatic approach to problem solving, use active listening to completely understand target audience needs, develop
targeted solutions
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to negotiate, influence, and engage stakeholders, teams, and others
• Applies business maturity to synthesize complex concepts and information
• Leverage critical business thinking to impact business planning, operations, financial performance, and risk
• Extensive experience in continuous improvement methods and tools
• Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications, and construction scheduling software and project
management applications
