Litigation Special Counsel Attorney (Non-Partner Track)

Our client, a highly regarded AmLaw 50 law firm, is seeking a talented Litigation Special Counsel Attorney to join its Construction Practice Group in Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, or Tallahassee, FL.
This full-time, non-partner track role is ideal for a self-motivated attorney who thrives in an autonomous work setting and is eager to handle a high volume of matters.
(Billable hours: 1900)
Candidate Profile:
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Active Bar Admission in Florida, in good standing.
- 2-5 years of substantive litigation experience, with a focus on construction and design defect claims and insurance-related matters.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and oratory skills, with experience in drafting motions and conducting discovery.
- Strong background in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of insurance claims; some trial experience is preferred.
- Prior experience managing a team of paralegals and support staff is beneficial.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Proven track record in settling cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a variety of cases autonomously, focusing on construction and design defect litigation, often in arbitration settings rather than circuit court.
- Conduct discovery, draft substantive motions, argue motions in court, and participate in depositions and trials as needed.
- Collaborate with and support a high-performing legal team in the Tampa office.
- Drive case progression effectively and maintain a proven track record in settling cases efficiently and strategically.
