Company headquartered in Phoenix is looking to add a Tax Manager to their staff due to growth.  The Tax Manager will support the corporate office accounting department by preparing book/tax differences to be reported on the federal consolidated income tax return, reviewing separate and unitary state tax returns and assisting with the preparation of the income tax provision.  This role is a Hybrid role located in Phoenix, Arizona.
 

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain income tax accounting workpapers supported by legal entity calculations
  • Prepare and review Schedules Ms
  • Prepare Taxable Income Calculations by legal entity to be included in a consolidated income tax return
  • Review Separate State Taxable Income Calculations as well as the Separate State Income Tax Returns
  • Assist with review of Foreign Income Tax Provision and Foreign Income Tax Returns
  • Perform income tax research and analysis as needed and communicate and implement findings to various internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with other organizations within the company explaining tax laws
  • Perform other duties as requested by leadership

Background Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting/Tax is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in corporate taxation
  • Possess a good understanding of accounting for income tax (ASC 740) and tax compliance
  • Experience working with OneSource Tax Provision software preferred
  • Experience working with SAP preferred
  • Experience supervising, reviewing and directing work of tax preparers
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to independently identify and resolve issues
  • Strong communication skills with ability to discuss tax topics and present the information to others such that they are able to understand
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
  • Good leadership and project management skills
