Profitable, growing chemical manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Technical Manager to lead direct and indirect reports in a high-volume, process-oriented manufacturing environment.  Daily you will report to the Plant Manager and be strategic with the following responsibilities:
 
  • Developing, coaching and leading a staff of maintenance and engineering professionals
  • Overseeing staff reviews, hiring and discipline as needed
  • Leading and assisting staff with mechanical troubleshooting as needed
  • Overseeing the plant preventative maintenance program, including coordination, scheduling and ensuring completion
  • Championing the improvement of an autonomous maintenance program
  • Utilizing and advancing the CMMS system for documentation, ticketing and maintenance management activities
  • Monitoring and working towards improvement of the ticketing system and related KPIs
  • Implementing additional KPIs, while striving to improve those that are in place
  • Finding cost savings and process improvements
  • Focusing on expense control and seeking cost savings
  • Committing to meeting the department budget and financial goals
  • Managing multiple project timelines and budgets, including managing outside contractors
  • Improving vendor management and communication
  • Finding strategic opportunities to improve the department
  • Directing and participating in weekly and daily staff and management meetings
  • Other duties as directed by management
 
Candidates should be detail oriented, thorough, able to follow through on tasks, hold others accountable, be able to see the big picture, be improvement minded and able to communicate at a levels.  Individuals should enjoy spending 30-40% of their time on the manufacturing floor.  This is a high-profile position that reports directly to the Plant Manager.  The company offers EXCELLENT medical benefits (including dental and vision), profit sharing and bonus potential, paternity leave, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation and personal days.  Medical benefits are available the first of the month after start. 

REQUIREMENTS for the Manufacturing Technical Manager:
1. Bachelor's Degree in a technical field; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering are highly preferred 
2. Minimum of 1-3 years in a similar lead maintenance and/or engineering management position  
3. Experience working in process-oriented manufacturing (such as chemical, food, beverage), including a blending/mixing batch process 
4. Experience operating and maximizing a CMMS  
5. Experience overseeing budgets
6. Experience with preventative maintenance programs
7. Experience working on continuous improvement activities, such as minimizing downtime, improving throughput, etc. 
8. Formal problem solving skills 
9. Mechanical aptitude 
10. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. CPMM, CMRP or other related certifications 
2. Lean or Six Sigma methodologies and/or certifications
3. Experience overseeing facilities maintenance  
4. Experience with autonomous maintenance programs 
5. Power BI
