Job Summary
The Architectural Project Manager is responsible for overseeing architectural designs from concept through execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. This role involves project coordination, client liaison, team leadership, and technical oversight across multiple architectural projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage a portfolio of small to medium-sized architectural projects across various stages of design and construction.
- Develop and implement strategic project plans, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
- Coordinate design, engineering, permitting, and construction administration processes.
- Serve as the primary client liaison, maintaining strong relationships and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assign and manage project team workflows, ensuring smooth execution and collaboration.
- Estimate project fees, define scope of work, and assist in preparing proposals and contracts.
Technical & Design Leadership
- Develop and refine architectural designs with a focus on functionality, aesthetics, and compliance.
- Ensure designs align with building codes, ADA guidelines, zoning laws, and construction methods.
- Utilize Revit and AutoCAD for drafting and design, mentoring others in CAD best practices.
- Solve complex design and construction challenges, ensuring projects align with client goals and budgets.
- Coordinate closely with structural, mechanical, and civil engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure architectural plans meet local, state, and national regulations.
- Maintain a deep understanding of modern construction techniques and materials to enhance project efficiency.
- Conduct quality control reviews throughout the design and construction process.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred).
- Registered Architect in Arizona, with eligibility for licensure in other states.
- NCARB registration preferred.
- 10+ years of architectural project management experience, preferably in commercial, retail, fuel centers, QSRs, restaurants, and mixed-use developments.
- Expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, and project management software.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA guidelines, construction methods, and materials.
- Experience in entitlements and permitting is highly preferred.
- Excellent client management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent design decisions.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
