MUST HAVE:
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or Structural Engineering with design experience)
✔️ 10+ years of experience (licensed preferred) OR 15+ years of experience without a license
✔️ Strong experience in construction & preparing construction documents
✔️ Hands-on experience in the field – understands how things are built, not just how they are drawn
✔️ Leadership & mentoring ability – must train young architects who can draft but lack field knowledge
✔️ Recent experience with Revit
✔️ Ability to work onsite in Marion, IN every day
NICE TO HAVE:
✔️ Licensed Architect or Structural Engineer (License is not required if experience is strong)
✔️ Future partnership potential – this person could become a Limited Partner
✔️ Experience with nonprofit projects (churches, libraries, community centers, healthcare, schools, housing)
✔️ Willingness to commute (can live outside Marion, as long as they are in office M-F)
✔️ Familiarity with bidding & procurement processes for nonprofit clients
Compensation & Benefits
💰 Salary: $100K - $130K (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities
📌 Project Management & Technical Leadership:
- Oversee construction documents & bid preparation to ensure accuracy.
- Guide nonprofit clients through design, permitting, and construction processes.
- Work with clients in churches, schools, healthcare, and affordable housing sectors.
- Maintain high-quality design standards while balancing cost-effective solutions.
📌 Mentorship & Team Development:
- Lead & mentor young architects and drafters who excel at software but need construction knowledge.
- Provide real-world insights on construction materials, methods, and feasibility.
- Support a collaborative open-studio environment in both offices.
📌 Hands-On Construction Knowledge & Execution:
- Ensure that drawings translate into buildable, cost-effective projects.
- Participate in site visits, contractor meetings, and troubleshooting field issues.
- Serve as a technical resource for the team on design execution & compliance.
📌 Client & Firm Leadership:
- Work closely with Jeff Schrader (retiring in November) & Michelle Doyle (Limited Partner, Marion Office).
