A nationally recognized legal team is seeking a litigation associate with 4–6 years of experience to join its commercial mortgage-backed securities special servicer and creditors’ rights practice in Chicago. This role involves handling complex real estate litigation, commercial foreclosures, receiverships, and creditor-side bankruptcy matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial foreclosure and receivership proceedings, including motion practice and courtroom appearances
- Lead real estate-related litigation through all phases, from pre-filing strategy to final resolution
- Handle discovery processes, including e-discovery, depositions, and drafting of motions
- Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, with a focus on creditors' rights
- Support and advise on landlord-tenant disputes, including drafting predicate notices and court pleadings
Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy litigation experience
- Licensed and in good standing in the state where the position is based
- Strong skills in legal writing, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy
- Experience in commercial real estate disputes and landlord-tenant litigation is strongly preferred
Compensation:
- Salary range: $275,000 – $350,000, depending on relevant experience and location
