Our client, a reputable and growing Houston area law firm, is ready to hire an experienced Litigation Paralegal.  This is a direct hire/permanent opportunity near the Allen Parkway/Montrose area and is in the office Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. 

 

Essential Functions

• Draft and prepare discovery requests and responses

• Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs

• Conduct basic legal research and cite-checking

• File legal documents electronically in both State and Federal courts

• Manage case calendars and track critical litigation deadlines

• Organize case files, exhibits, and trial binders

• Coordinate trial preparation logistics and provide in-court support as needed

• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from pre-suit to trial

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines

• In-depth understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules (State and Federal)

• Experience with eFiling systems and eDiscovery tools

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys and other team members

• Paralegal Certificate and/or Associate/Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

• Prior experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation matters

• Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Clio, Relativity, or similar platforms)
