CONSUMER FINANCIAL SERVICES ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY
A premier AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their esteemed Consumer Financial Services Practice Group. Located in the firm's Richmond office, the position offers flexibility and balance as a hybrid role. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a high-performing litigation team representing leading financial institutions and service providers in complex business and commercial disputes.
Candidate Profile

JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.

Active Bar Admission in Virginia, in good standing.

3–6 years of business litigation experience.

Commercial, mortgage, auto, and credit card litigation experience, as well as the representation of financial institutions, is an advantage.

Federal clerkship experience is a plus.

Demonstrated experience with client management, business development, and the independent management of cases.

Ability to thrive both as a team player and when working autonomously.

Soft Skills: Strong research, writing, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with sound professional judgment.
Key Responsibilities

Case Management: Handle a broad range of litigation matters involving financial institutions, including consumer financial services disputes and regulatory matters.

Courtroom Advocacy: Participate in depositions, hearings, motions practice, and other court proceedings at both the state and federal levels.

Client Service: Communicate directly with clients, providing legal advice, regulatory guidance and updates on strategy, case developments, and litigation risks and government investigations.

Legal Drafting: Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and discovery responses.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior litigators and partners in a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality work and achieve client objectives.
