Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the ongoing upkeep of machinery, equipment, and plant systems. Through guidance and a hands-on approach involving expert-level mechanical repairs, adjustments, installations, and preventive maintenance necessary for proper appearance and function of the production machines and facility while upholding company policies, goals, and objectives of the plant/organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop the maintenance department through mentorship and training to ensure proper changeovers, set-ups, repairs, and general maintenance of all manufacturing & support equipment
- Work closely with the other department managers to develop a continuous improvement culture focusing on creating a proactive and predictive approach to developing continuous improvement procedures
- Learn, practice, and adhere to all safety, quality, and department-specific policies, procedures, GMP’s and SOP's
- Prepare and maintain records as required
- Manage the maintenance team to ensure proper training, mentorship, and ongoing education of maintenance staff as it pertains to individuals’ role and responsibilities
- Manage and oversee changeovers, major and minor adjustments, or repairs, assist in trouble shoot and problem solve all plant facilities and/or equipment, as necessary
- Work in cooperation with plant and corporate management team to effectively meet departmental and organizational objectives
- Coordinate and manage with our vendors on all major mechanicals rebuild, scheduled preventative maintenance and plant facilities maintenance
- Maintain an analysis of equipment performance, maintenance costs and propose needed improvements
- Coordinate with Engineering Manager to evaluate, budget and implement equipment and systems improvements on a capital expense level
- Develop, maintain, and report department metrics and KPIs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Develop and implement corrective/preventative actions to minimize and alleviate deficiencies in production and support equipment operation
- Coordinate with production team to ensure downed equipment is up and running in an expeditious manner
- Continuous development and implementation of all preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient mechanical and electrical operation of plant equipment and systems
- Assist in writing and training proper procedures, work instructions and SOPs.
- Gather and review documentation that is completed by team members and ensure all documentation for P.M.’s, repairs and parts requisitions are correct and inputted into CMMS (mPulse)
- As a 24/7 manufacturing plant, be flexible to work any day or shift as needed to support the business

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; technical trade school, military training or technical college preferred
- Minimum 5 years hands on industrial facilities & equipment in related industry, beverage experience a plus
- Read, write, speak and comprehend English
- Solid Basic Math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights & measures
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering documents and specifications as they apply to manufacturing equipment, facilities and systems
- Basic knowledge of both (A/C) high voltage and (D/C) low voltage electrical wiring
- Reads and understands electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams & schematics
- Computer proficient; including MS Office & MPulse
- Ability to communicate well both written and orally at all levels within the organization
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Understands all GMP’s, SQF, SOP’s, HACCP, Safety and Quality policies and procedures
- Ability to dismantle, repair, install, or move machinery and mechanical equipment
- Ability to diagnose and repair both facilities support equipment and manufacturing equipment
- Ability to safely operate all hand and power tools applicable to tasks at skilled level
- Ability to direct preventive maintenance on a range of facility equipment with a full understanding and use of the preventative maintenance software
- Skilled experience with electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing and painting
Physical Demands:
- Vision, hearing and speaking to meet performance standard
- Ability to stand, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, walk, manual dexterity and large motor skills to work with the following tools: all types of hand tools, power tools, scoops, screens, scales, pallet jacks & drum dollies, mops, brooms, ladders and portable stairs
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and heavier weights using appropriate equipment and/or team lifting
- Ability to work with exposure to the elements for short periods
- Ability to work in elevated positions, at up to 50 feet and using proper safety precautions
- Hearing and speech to interact in person or using a telephone
- Vision to read documents, equipment readouts, instruments and computer screens
Work Environment:
- Requires ability to work in an environment that may contain non-toxic fumes, dust, odors, moderate level noise, and temperature & ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel required e.g.: uniforms, safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hair net, beard net, face mask or respirator
- Work environment sometimes involves exposure inclement weather
