We are seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead our tug, barge, and shipyard operations. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable performance of our marine services division. The ideal candidate will bring deep maritime industry knowledge, a strong command of operational planning, and a hands-on leadership style that drives results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across tug and barge fleets and shipyard facilities, ensuring vessels and projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Oversee fleet maintenance and scheduling, minimizing downtime and maximizing asset utilization.

  • Direct shipyard functions, including repairs, maintenance, and vessel construction projects.

  • Manage operating budgets and financial performance, controlling costs and identifying opportunities for revenue growth.

  • Hire, train, and lead cross-functional teams, including vessel crews and shipyard staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure strict compliance with maritime regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.

  • Build strong client relationships, manage contracts, and support new business development.

  • Report regularly to executive leadership on performance metrics, operational updates, and strategic initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in the maritime industry, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience managing tug and barge operations, vessel maintenance, and shipyard projects.

  • Strong background in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.

  • Effective leadership and team development skills, with the ability to manage diverse crews and technical staff.

  • Deep understanding of maritime regulations, safety standards, and operational best practices.

  • Proficient in operational planning tools and marine management systems.
