Summary:  We are seeking a pro-active, highly motivated person with strong attention to detail to join our growing Specialty Door Group as a Project Estimator, with future growth opportunities.  Improving the turnaround time of RFQ / RFPs while maintaining accuracy is a top priority for this role. Accomplishing that will directly lead to growth in the Specialty Door business.  This position represents an exciting opportunity to have a critical role in Lockmasters’ door department, the fastest growing division in the company. Lockmasters recently filed a provisional patent for its own RF door and is well known in the market as providing the first “door in the box” product to government customers by combining an RF or STC door with Lockmasters’ patent protected LKM10K exit device.

NOTE - 99% of the doors sold by Lockmasters are specialty doors.

Lockmasters will quote basic hollow core doors if requested by an established customer or part of a larger RFQ.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

·        Perform detailed material quotes from customer provided quote sheets or blueprints.

·        Learn and retain technical information and maintain an ongoing library of estimating standards.

·        Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the estimating department and beyond.

·        Conduct pricing research to ensure product pricing is current and up to date.

·        Follow estimating processes and build on those processes.

·        Maintain all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations.

·        Follow up on customer inquiries/quotes

·        Participate in product research and design, project submittals, purchasing and project management as required.

·        Work with various members of the team as needed to provide product and estimating support.

·        Assist with customer needs such as freight claims or warranty product.

·        Work with other sales and customer service staff and provide assistance when needed.  Collaborate with other departments as everyone on the team is expected to have a degree of cross training and be able to pinch hit as needed. 

·        Other duties as assigned. 

Skills / Trainings / Certifications / Degrees 

Having experience in doors and door hardware is important, and most critical is ability to prepare detailed quotes from blueprints or other plans provided by the customer . Having an AHC certification and a four year degree are preferred, but the right individual can learn the business and gain the certification over time. 

The successful candidate will possess the necessary attributes such that they are able to build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels. Collaboration and humility are key attributes.

·        At least 1 year estimating experience - very high preference for estimating in doors and door hardware vertical. 

·        Other types of Construction Experience is a plus

·        Ability to use PC and learn company computer system.

·        Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

·        Salesforce is a plus

·        Top-Office software is a plus

·        Excellent phone skills
