Our client, a premier AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a skilled mid-level Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join its high-performing Litigation Practice Group in New York. This is a standout opportunity to work on complex, high-stakes patent, trade secrets, and commercial disputes for cutting-edge clients in the high technology, software, digital media, and semiconductor industries.

 


 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing. 
  • 3–4 years of substantive experience in intellectual property litigation, with a focus on patent and trade secrets disputes.
  • Technical Background: A degree in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science is strongly preferred.
  • PTAB Experience: Experience with inter partes review (IPR) petitions is highly desirable.
  • USPTO: Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 or similarly sophisticated firm preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to manage complex matters effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent technology, software, and digital media clients in sophisticated patent and trade secrets litigation in federal courts and before the ITC.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs in complex IP matters, and assist in all phases of litigation from discovery through trial and appeal.
  • Prepare and prosecute inter partes review petitions and other proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
  • Provide strategic counseling to clients on intellectual property enforcement and defense strategies.
  • Collaborate across practice groups to deliver integrated and innovative legal solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual base salary is expected to range from $260,000 – $310,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors.
