Platform Product Manager

We are seeking Platform Product Manager for our well-funded SF Bay Area client. You will own the infrastructure that powers our real-time 3D positioning technology—from how we receive radio signals used to determine device locations, to the data pipelines that deliver location data where it needs to go. This includes managing how the company collects signals via our own hardware, 5G networks, or Wi-Fi networks; overseeing the systems that process those signals; and ensuring that location data is delivered reliably to internal software applications or external partners via API. This is a highly cross-functional role; You will work closely with engineering, customers, and integration partners to ensure the platform is scalable, high-performing, and adaptable across industries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

●      Define, execute, and continuously refine the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the platform infrastructure powering real-time 3D positioning technology.

●      Set requirements for end-to-end data flow: from radio signal acquisition (via the company’s hardware, 5G networks, or Wi-Fi infrastructure) through signal processing to delivery via internal applications or external APIs.

●      Set requirements for internal APIs and backend systems that process raw signal data into real-time, high-precision location outputs.

●      Develop, scale, and maintain external APIs that allow customers and partners to seamlessly integrate the company’s real-time positioning data into their platforms.

●      Lead and drive integrations with system integrators, 5G radio access networks (RAN), Wi-Fi vendors, and other partners.

●      Define and prioritize hardware and firmware product requirements in collaboration with engineering, ensuring a balance between technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and business objectives.

●      Set requirements for best practices for security, data governance, and platform reliability, working with technical stakeholders.

●      Conduct in-depth competitive analysis and market research to identify technological opportunities and maintain the company’s competitive edge.

●      Ensure platform scalability, adaptability, and flexibility to support diverse industries, customer needs, and deployment models.

●      Lead discovery sessions with customers and partners to identify integration requirements, prioritize features, and shape product roadmap decisions.

●      Define, measure, and iterate on system-level KPIs, monitoring scalability, performance, and reliability.

●      Support and collaborate with sales and customer success teams to streamline customer onboarding, integration planning, and technical enablement.

●      Communicate platform updates, architectural changes, and roadmap priorities clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.

●      Provide guidance and ensure comprehensive technical documentation for APIs, integration processes, and platform capabilities.

MUST HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS 

●      Proven experience in product management for infrastructure platforms, APIs, radio hardware, or hardware/software integrations.

●      Hands-on experience with product development methodologies, including planning, iterative development, and backlog prioritization.

●      Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, partners, and customers to drive impactful platform enhancements.

●      Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.

●      Experience applying product prioritization frameworks to effectively manage competing technical requirements.

●      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to navigate complex technical constraints while delivering business value.

●      Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

●      Deep technical understanding of radio networks (5G, Wi-Fi), cloud infrastructure, IoT systems, and data pipelines.

●      Expertise in interpreting and utilizing system performance data to make informed product decisions.

●      Experience working with telcos, RAN vendors, Wi-Fi vendors, IoT hardware vendors, and/or system integrators.

●      Track record of defining, measuring, and iterating on KPIs related to platform performance, latency, throughput, and reliability.

●      Experience with cloud platforms, location-based services, IoT platforms, radio hardware, 5G cellular networks, and Wi-Fi networks.

●      Familiarity with edge computing or real-time data processing architectures.

●      Experience with system architecture design and technical requirement specifications.

●      Experience in defining and managing product requirements for complex, real-time, distributed systems.

●      Knowledge of API design best practices, data privacy standards, and performance optimization for large-scale distributed systems.

●      Understanding of telecommunications industry standards and protocols.

●      Experience working with and managing open-source software integrations.
