Job Description:
A growing engineering and consulting firm is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer (Engineer II) with a strong background in land development, structural design and public works. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is passionate about engineering and business development, and is looking to grow professionally while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural engineering calculations and prepare detailed design plans for multi-story residential and commercial buildings using wood, steel, CMU, and concrete framing systems, in accordance with local building codes.

  • Design structures to meet windstorm and flood zone requirements, particularly for projects located along the Texas coastline.

  • Conduct on-site consultations to assess structural conditions and recommend safe, cost-effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with drafting staff to produce high-quality construction drawings and specifications.

  • Utilize engineering software such as Enercalc, STAAD.Pro, RAM Connection, RAM Structural System, and AutoCAD.

  • Maintain and build strong relationships with clients including homeowners, general contractors, builders, and regulatory agencies.

  • Contribute to project cost management, scheduling, and overall profitability.

  • Participate in business development activities and foster new opportunities for growth.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).

  • PE License
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural design (required).

  • 5 years of civil engineering experience in public works (strongly preferred).

  • Proficiency in relevant structural engineering software.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and develop client relationships.

  • Creative problem-solver who pays attention to detail and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion.

  • Passion for construction, structural design, and engineering innovation.
