Job Description:
A growing engineering and consulting firm is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer (Engineer II) with a strong background in land development, structural design and public works. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is passionate about engineering and business development, and is looking to grow professionally while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- 
Perform structural engineering calculations and prepare detailed design plans for multi-story residential and commercial buildings using wood, steel, CMU, and concrete framing systems, in accordance with local building codes. 
- 
Design structures to meet windstorm and flood zone requirements, particularly for projects located along the Texas coastline. 
- 
Conduct on-site consultations to assess structural conditions and recommend safe, cost-effective solutions. 
- 
Collaborate with drafting staff to produce high-quality construction drawings and specifications. 
- 
Utilize engineering software such as Enercalc, STAAD.Pro, RAM Connection, RAM Structural System, and AutoCAD. 
- 
Maintain and build strong relationships with clients including homeowners, general contractors, builders, and regulatory agencies. 
- 
Contribute to project cost management, scheduling, and overall profitability. 
- 
Participate in business development activities and foster new opportunities for growth. 
Qualifications:
- 
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (required). 
- PE License
- 
Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural design (required). 
- 
5 years of civil engineering experience in public works (strongly preferred). 
- 
Proficiency in relevant structural engineering software. 
- 
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and develop client relationships. 
- 
Creative problem-solver who pays attention to detail and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
