Senior Payroll Specialist
Compensation: $70K–$80K per year
Job Type: Onsite, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to manage a wide range of payroll functions, including retirement plan processing, union benefit submissions, and payroll reporting. This role requires strong technical expertise, confidentiality, and precision in handling payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for all affiliated entities while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as organizational policies.
 - Supervise timekeeping activities in UKG/Kronos and HHA Exchange, ensuring accurate review, approval, and processing of attendance data.
 - Provide timely support to employees regarding payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
 - Reconcile payroll transactions to align with HR/HRIS updates (e.g., new hires, separations, position changes).
 - Accurately maintain deductions, direct deposits, tax withholdings, and garnishments based on documentation.
 - Deliver payroll reports to Finance to support monthly financial close.
 - Manage weekly retirement benefit funding and annual Safe Harbor contributions.
 - Prepare and process union benefit reports and payments for bargaining units (1199 RN, 1199 LPN, 1199/114 Services & Maintenance, 1199 Homecare Division).
 - Administer check requests for specific benefits including FSA contributions, WageWorks commuter benefits, and 1199 Home Mortgage payments.
 - Maintain secure and compliant payroll records in line with internal protocols.
 - Assist the Payroll Director with ad hoc projects and assignments.
 
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required.
 - Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, ideally in a lead or supervisory role.
 - Strong knowledge of payroll practices, laws, and compliance standards.
 - Experience with ADP Enterprise Version 6 or ADP Workforce Now preferred.
 - Proficiency with Kronos or UKG Time & Attendance systems required.
 - Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
 - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
 - Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
