Dean Work Force Development , WFD

Purpose of the Position:

Instructional and management responsibilities for the specified Workforce Development site

  • Responsible for providing site supervision of nursing program activities.
  • Assists the Regional Dean with implementing special projects
  • Works with and functions under the supervision of the Regional Dean.

Job responsibilities:

  • Supports Regional Dean in planning, managing, and evaluating program aspects.
  • Oversees faculty, staff, and clinical site liaison.
  • Manages program policies and procedures.
  • Ensures adequate supplies and equipment for program objectives.
  • Prepares data/materials for state/Board requirements and visits.
  • Maintains on-site student records.
  • Collaborates with HR on faculty/staff documentation.
  • Assists with admissions and nursing core orientation.
  • Fills in for clinical, skills lab, or sim lab as needed.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assesses clinical sites for safety, staffing, and alignment with course objectives.
  • Meets monthly with Clinical Partner and Regional Dean to review operations.
  • Coordinates with Clinical Education Management to update facility contracts.

Faculty Responsibilities

  • Prepares data and materials for state/Board requirements, reports, and visits.
  • Supports strategic planning and assessment for program quality.
  • Improves instruction quality with innovative teaching methods.
  • Acquires skills for using online activities in teaching.
  • Provides feedback on student/faculty clinical performance during site visits.
  • Submits program reports to Regional Dean on time.
  • Attends or delegates faculty meetings.

Student Responsibilities

  • Develops skills lab and clinical orientation with faculty and clinical partner.
  • Assists in planning and reviewing nursing student recruitment and admission.
  • Attends national NCLEX success meetings.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid RN license (CA or site-specific; CA costs covered if relocating).
  • Masters in nursing.
  • 1+ year teaching in college in nursing programs.
  • 1 year RN direct patient care experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style.
  • Proficient in MS Teams, Zoom, LMS.
