Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Complex Commercial & Liability Litigation Associate Attorney to join a dynamic legal team in San Diego. This position demands a proactive approach to managing intricate legal challenges faced by commercial entities and real estate developers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in litigation processes and the strategic acumen necessary for successful legal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of litigation and commercial dispute resolution in both California State and U.S. Federal courts.
- Conduct comprehensive discovery management, including ESI, motion practices, trial preparations, and appellate briefings.
- Engage in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
- Represent clients in complex real estate, land use, zoning, and construction disputes, as well as corporate litigation and insurance defense.
- Draft persuasive pleadings and motions, articulating complex legal theories into clear arguments.
- Provide expert risk mitigation counsel, offering strategic insights to reduce potential legal exposure.
- Lead client representation in depositions and collaborate on transactional integration for settlement agreements.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic performance.
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- 2 to 7 years of experience in private practice, focusing on litigation in real property, corporate matters, or business disputes.
- Proficiency in forensic legal analysis, research, and legal drafting.
- Excellent communication skills, with a talent for client development and service quality.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively, meeting strict deadlines and maintaining liability control.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced credentials such as an L.L.M. in Real Property or Construction Law.
- Proven track record in appellate briefings or court appearances.
- Trial experience as 1st or 2nd chair or appearances before administrative judges.
- Experience in legal risk advisement and regulatory compliance.
