Role Summary
Support operating ethanol plants by troubleshooting process issues and delivering timely, cost-effective solutions. Prepare design packages (equipment specs, drawings, and P&ID updates) and help manage projects through completion, including schedule tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- 
Diagnose plant issues and implement corrective actions to improve safety, reliability, quality, and cost. 
- 
Prepare engineering design packages: equipment specifications, P&ID updates, and change documentation. 
- 
Build material & energy balances for new and developing processes with input from senior engineers. 
- 
Design, lay out, and improve equipment and unit operations for industrial-scale ethanol processes. 
- 
Analyze procedures/equipment to reduce cycle time and operating cost. 
- 
Design processes for movement and storage of liquids, solids, and gases. 
- 
Develop measurement and control approaches based on lab, pilot, and plant data. 
- 
Determine effective arrangements of unit operations, balancing technical, economic, operability, and safety considerations. 
- 
Lead/coordinate activities of operators/technicians on equipment such as condensers, evaporators, pumps, columns, heat exchangers, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, pipelines, and centrifuges.

Perform tests and collect data (e.g., temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure) to monitor and control production. 
- 
Apply chemical engineering principles to address environmental and regulatory requirements. 
- 
Issue technical information to customers and support external communications as needed.

Track project timelines and support projects from concept to completion. 
Qualifications
- 
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or closely related technical discipline) required. 
- 
1–3 years of process engineering or related experience/training required in a Chemical Plant 
Skills
- 
Proficient with MS Office, Adobe, and AutoCAD. 
- 
Strong attention to detail; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
