Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Junior Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic Trial & Defense Practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated product liability matters—including environmental, asbestos, talc, and other toxic tort claims—as well as complex commercial litigation. The practice involves representing policyholders, brokers, and both domestic and international insurers on high-exposure and latent-type claims. This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior attorney to develop strong litigation skills alongside seasoned trial attorneys in a fast-paced and collaborative practice.

 


 

Candidate Profile

  • JD/LLM from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in New York AND Connecticut, in good standing
  • 1–3 years of substantive litigation experience, including commercial litigation
  • Courtroom experience, including motion practice, is required
  • Trial experience is required
  • Asbestos, toxic tort, or product liability experience strongly preferred
  • Superior legal writing, analytical, and research abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
 
**Foreign attorneys who earned an LLM from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record, have Active Bar Admission in both NY and CT, and meet the same experience requirements are also welcome to apply.
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Take and defend depositions, and participate in hearings and mediations
  • Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation filings
  • Prepare detailed correspondence and report to clients and carrier representatives
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other research tools
  • Draft interrogatories, document requests, and responses
  • Review and analyze document collections in preparation for litigation
  • Assist with trial preparation and support trial teams as needed
  • Manage filings and submissions to state and federal courts
  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on litigation strategy
