About the Role- As a CAD Technician, you will support a variety of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects. These include:
- Linear pipeline projects such as water mains, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers
- Mechanical piping systems for sewage pump stations
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Water treatment and booster stations
- Public works projects in collaboration with the Municipal Services Department
- You will play a key role in developing accurate, standards compliant drawing sets that move projects from concept to construction.
- Create pipeline alignments and profiles
- Draft plan and profile markups
- Draft site plans and markups
- Prepare and assemble drawing sets in accordance with U.S. National CAD and company standards
- Draft mechanical piping layout markups
- Identify and resolve drawing inconsistencies
- Communicate project status with department staff to maintain schedules
- Collaborate with other CAD team members to improve procedures and troubleshoot software issues
Qualifications:
Requirements- 1 to 3 years of related utility pipeline experience
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience creating pipeline alignments and profiles
- Ability to prepare mechanical drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Highly organized and goal oriented
- Self motivated team player with a desire to learn new technologies
- Ability to create and manipulate surfaces
- Experience with AutoCAD Pipes Routine
- Survey data integration using Autoline
- Ability to assemble mechanical piping systems from published data
- Experience creating building plans, sections, elevations, and details
