Director of Procurement, Indirect Sourcing
Hybrid - mostly remote| Reports to Senior Director of Procurement

Our client is a fast-growing, fee-only wealth management and advisory firm that pairs technology-driven retirement planning (workplace 401(k) managed accounts) with personalized human financial guidance. With nearly 150 offices nationwide and roughly 1.5 million clients, the Company holds a dominant position in the 401(k) managed account space and continues to invest heavily in technology to fuel its growth.
The Opportunity
The Company is seeking an experienced Indirect Procurement Director to join its centralized Procurement function within FP&A. This is a senior, individual-contributor role for a strategic leader who will shape and execute enterprise-wide sourcing strategies across the full Procure-to-Pay lifecycle.
Acting as a trusted advisor to the business, you will partner with executive stakeholders across HR, IT, Financial Market Data, Marketing, Operations, Wealth Planning, and Tradingtranslating complex business needs into sourcing strategies that deliver value, mitigate risk, and drive innovation. You'll lead high-impact negotiations, structure commercially sound agreements, and bring deep expertise in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management to every deal.
This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior leadership, significant ownership over complex sourcing initiatives, and real influence over how the Company manages risk, cost, and vendor performance at scale.
What You'll Do
Lead strategic sourcing. Own Indirect Procurement RFP initiatives end-to-endfrom initiation and launch through competitive bid negotiation, redlining, and contract execution.
Negotiate and contract with authority. Serve as the expert in contract redlining and commercial negotiation, partnering closely with Legal and negotiating directly with vendor counsel and sales counterpartsparticularly on software, SaaS, and hosting agreements.
Structure smart deals. Apply advanced negotiation and critical thinking to build flexible, measurable fee models that drive cost containment and downside protection, including price escalation caps and competitive tiered pricing structures.
Deliver executive-ready insights. Use advanced analytics to track spend, supplier performance (SLAs), and realized savings, presenting clear, compelling dashboards and reporting to senior and executive leadership.
Drive cross-functional impact. Lead initiatives to consolidate and streamline the supplier base, influence stakeholder decisions, and deliver measurable savings and efficiencies across departments.
Govern with rigor. Ensure procurement operations align with financial plans and corporate policy, and audit category-specific inventories with business owners to confirm requirements, licensing, and cost controls are properly managed.
Support seamless operations. Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure Purchase Orders and contracts are properly matched with invoices for accurate, timely payment.
Communicate with impact. Present ideas, issues, and recommendations clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at every level, including senior management.

Profile
10+ years of Procurement experience in Indirect Sourcing at a well-regarded organization
Extensive technology procurement experience, ideally within a technology-dependent business
Expert-level command of contract, legal, and commercial terms, with hands-on experience redlining and negotiating software, SaaS, and hosting agreements
Proficiency with P2P systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite) and intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
Procurement certification (CPM, CTPE, CPP, SPSM, CIPS) preferred
Strong executive presence, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to juggle multiple high-stakes priorities without losing sight of the details

Qualifications:


10+ years of Procurement experience in Indirect Sourcing at a well-regarded organization
Extensive technology procurement experience, ideally within a technology-dependent business
Expert-level command of contract, legal, and commercial terms, with hands-on experience redlining and negotiating software, SaaS, and hosting agreements
Proficiency with P2P systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite) and intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
Procurement certification (CPM, CTPE, CPP, SPSM, CIPS) preferred
