What it's about:
 
If you are already in the Property Management space, you know the basics.  If not, here's an idea of how you'll spend your days: 
  • Being on site overseeing operations for the property, ensuring an optimal experience for residents.
  • Manage / support on site team: leasing professionals, maintenance staff, and third party vendor partners.
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair, working with company staff and third party partners to  maintain an exceptional property.
  • Managing the finances of the property: ensuring rent collection, follow up on late payments / delinquencies, etc.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, handling questions and concerns.
  • Oversee the financials for the property to ensure profitability and success. 
  • Handling marketing communications to prospects and newsletters to residents. 
 
Essentially, you'll be the COO of your own community! 
 
What it takes:
 
As noted above, this is a company that hires not only for experience but for aptitude and potential. Previous experience as a Leasing Representative, Assistant PM, or PM is certainly a plus as you already are aware of the landscape and demands. The characteristics and experience that will make a person successful include: 
 
  • A strong orientation to customer service / satisfaction.  A drive to ensure positive relationships and experience with all stakeholders - residents, prospects, on site staff, corporate partners. 
  • The ability to multi-task and deal with the unexpected, while staying organized and on track with ongoing responsibilities. 
  • Positive, professional, yet friendly and accessible demeanor.  If you are the type that is bothered by people approaching you, this is not for you! 
  • This is a broad based role encompassing the areas of finance, marketing, operations, and leasing / sales.  The ability to handle a broad range of sometimes disparate activities. 
  • Verbal and written communication that is a professional and appropriate for the situation. 
  • A "solutions oriented" approach to incidents that arise, and habit of not getting rattled when something unexpected comes up!
