A leading accounting and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Senior to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Perform diversified accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under the guidance of supervisors, managers, or partners.
- Demonstrate strong technical skills, work quality, and adherence to professional standards.
- Direct, supervise, and review work performed by staff accountants and assistants.
- Determine the extent of test-checking required during audits and select transactions for testing.
- Prepare and index working papers; perform procedures under GAAP to verify the accuracy of financial matters.
- Prepare complex tax returns, including those for dissolution or liquidation.
- Propose tax planning strategies to supervisors, managers, or partners.
- Draft correspondence for clients and provide comments for management letters.
- Commit to occasional overtime throughout the year and heavy overtime (55+ hours/week) during tax season (January-April).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 years of progressive public accounting experience in tax and auditing.
- Completion of at least 40 hours of continuing professional education annually.
- CPA license required
- Membership in good standing with the AICPA is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually (overtime paid at time and a half).
