A highly regarded accounting and consulting firm in the west region is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Honolulu office. As a Tax Manager, you will oversee the preparation, review, and delivery of complex tax engagements while managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals.

Responsibilities
- Perform technical tax reviews and approve complex tax returns and governmental tax examinations.
- Take full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegate work to preparers as appropriate.
- Provide advanced technical expertise to advise clients on complex tax issues.
- Manage all tasks related to client service, ensuring assignments are completed within budgeted time.
- Delegate and oversee tax research projects for accuracy and efficiency.
- Represent clients during governmental tax examinations and communicate effectively with taxing authorities.
- Supervise and train tax staff, ensuring their development and proficiency in technical skills.
- Maintain familiarity with staff qualifications and ensure appropriate staff assignments.
- Participate in the evaluation and review processes for the Tax Department.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of public accounting experience, demonstrating progression in tax complexity and research.
- At least 1 year of experience supervising and directing tax preparers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
- A current and valid CPA license is required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
