Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Account Director – Chemical Engineering to lead client engagement, business development, and strategic growth efforts within the chemical and process industries. This role requires a strong background in chemical or process engineering, coupled with a proven ability to sell engineering services to leading Oil & Gas and Chemical companies. Candidates should be comfortable managing both greenfield and brownfield projects, including plant infrastructure upgrades and EPC engagements.
Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key chemical industry clients, nurturing long-term relationships and ensuring ongoing satisfaction.

Business Development: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the chemical and process sectors by offering engineering and digital solutions.

Strategic Engagement: Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand their business priorities and align engineering service offerings accordingly.

Project Oversight: Coordinate with delivery and technical teams to ensure projects meet client expectations in quality, budget, and timelines.

Revenue Operations: Track account health by monitoring billing, revenue recognition, collections, and pipeline performance.

Market Intelligence: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies to proactively offer innovative and value-driven solutions.

Account Growth: Drive expansion within existing accounts by identifying white space, upselling, and cross-selling relevant services across CAPEX, operations, and compliance functions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience: 15+ years of experience in engineering service sales or account management, with a focus on the chemical, oil & gas, or process industries.
Domain Knowledge:

Strong background in Chemical Engineering, Process Plant Engineering, or related disciplines.

Deep understanding of EPC ecosystems and experience working with companies like Worley, Wood, Fluor, etc.

Experience supporting greenfield and brownfield infrastructure projects, including refinery upgrades and plant sustenance.
Sales and Relationship Management:

Demonstrated success selling engineering services (not products) to chemical and process industry clients.

Proven ability to lead contract negotiations, present proposals, and engage with executive-level stakeholders.
Strategic Thinking:

Ability to align service offerings with client strategies, regulatory needs, and operational improvement goals.

Exposure to digital enablement in chemical operations (e.g., instrumentation, control systems, asset management) is a plus.
Communication and Leadership:

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong commercial acumen and ability to guide internal teams to successful project execution.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.

Experience managing accounts and selling services to chemical, oil & gas, and process industry clients.

Familiarity with engineering services delivery models, including onsite/offshore collaboration.
