Key Role Responsibilities:

Lead the overall preconstruction process, delivering comprehensive competitive bids, negotiated proposals, cost estimates, analysis, and budgets

Prepare and execute project win strategies, including interviews and presentations to support business development

Oversee project teams to ensure successful execution and completion of preconstruction phases

Manage relationships with key clients and design team contacts during preconstruction

Perform estimating tasks as needed, including self-perform estimating

Report accurate project cost history

Partner with operations to review project risk assessments

Review project business plans with stakeholders to ensure alignment and profitability

Lead the entire work acquisition process, including management, coordination, and delivery of preconstruction phases and extensive client contact

Manage multiple estimates depending on size, complexity, and type, including the largest and most complex estimates

Develop complete and accurate conceptual budgets from written narratives and/or concept plans

Evaluate estimator performance, identify training needs, and conduct training sessions

Assist in hiring and recruiting estimators

Represent the company professionally with owners, architects, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors

Build effective working relationships with clients and project teams

Become a subject matter expert in preconstruction best practices and conduct training for colleagues

Oversee management and maintenance of estimating software database, including cost history documentation

Supervise and review estimators’ work
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in related field
-
10+ years’ experience in estimating and preconstruction
-
Demonstrated experience with ground-up and conceptual estimates
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Experience with commercial, healthcare, advanced industries, corporate interiors projects, and public sector is a plus

Ability to lead a department and project team
