Global Trade Compliance Assistant Manager
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Global Trade Compliance Assistant Manager will assist in leading the movement of shipments through the supply chain by providing accurate documentation in compliance with U.S. Free Trade Agreements (USMCA / KORUS). This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment and delivery of imported, exported, and domestic transported goods. The position requires effective communication with vendors, U.S. customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation carriers to ensure efficient movement of goods across borders.
General Summary

Serve as one of the organization’s Free Trade Act subject matter experts and assist in ensuring compliance with U.S. CBP Free Trade Act regulations (USMCA / KORUS).

Oversee all aspects of FTA operations and compliance with applicable business rules and regulations.

Assist management in creating presentations for company-wide FTA training as well as monthly training for the Global Trade Department.

Coordinate ocean/air/inland transportation from point of import to point of sale/export.

Arrange expedited transportation (air, trucking) to support and meet production schedules.

Support and generate cost-saving initiatives for logistics processes.

Support and execute overall global trade strategies.

Provide internal departments with professional advice as necessary.

Improve work procedures and processes to increase work efficiency.

Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.

Actively communicate with headquarters to ensure clear and consistent decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Required

Bachelor’s degree

Extensive knowledge and experience of the U.S. Free Trade Act (USMCA / KORUS)

Authorization to work in the United States without future sponsorship requirements

7+ years of experience in FTA compliance
-
5+ years of supervisory experience
-
Direct experience with import and export shipping
-
Experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent applications
-
Strong understanding of external market trends

Experience with customs clearance and transportation processes
Preferred

Experience in the automotive or related manufacturing industry

4+ years of freight forwarding experience

Extensive experience working in procurement or a related department
