Job description:
We are seeking an accomplished Structural Department Manager to lead and grow a Structural Engineering team in Warrington, PA. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a wide variety of structural projects, manage and mentor a talented staff, and play a key role in client development and departmental growth.
The OpportunityAs Structural Department Manager, you will guide the direction of the Structural Engineering discipline while working directly with clients, local/state agencies, and contractors. You will have a leadership role in project acquisition, planning, design, and delivery, with direct responsibility for business development, staff management, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and mentor a staff of Structural Engineers and Designers.
- Lead the design and analysis of bridges, culverts, buildings, and other infrastructure.
- Secure, plan, and oversee bridge and structural projects at the local, county, and state level.
- Prepare project proposals and lead efforts to win new work.
- Provide construction support services, including contract administration, project coordination, permitting, and budget management.
- Oversee project financials, ensuring utilization, profit, and overhead targets are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through communication and business development.
- Represent the company in civic and professional organizations (ASCE, NSPE, chamber of commerce, etc.) to expand visibility and industry presence.
- Support and grow the Corporate Structural Engineering discipline through strategic leadership and innovation.
Qualifications:
What You Bring- Education: B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering (advanced degree a plus).
- Credentials: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Pennsylvania required; New Jersey preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in structural engineering, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with PennDOT or Turnpike projects highly preferred; strong knowledge of structural design software including PennDOT programs.
- Business Development: Proven success in client relations and winning new work.
- Leadership: Strong organizational, communication, and mentoring skills with a track record of managing staff and projects effectively.
- Technical Tools: Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
